Jesus Maria Ranch White-tailed Deer Hunts
Nestled in the sun-kissed cul-de-sac of the sunbelt and brush country, our hunting grounds feature savannah-like grass pastures, vibrant prickly pear cactus, and majestic mesquite trees that blanket the red dirt and sandy terrain. Most shots are taken within the range of 80 to 120 yards, with the minimum criteria for a trophy buck being a 16-inch inside spread and eight points or more. Over the past decade, the majority of the animals harvested have grossed scores between 125-165 Boone & Crockett or better. Abundant bucks roam these lands, and we take delight in observing the spirited young contenders in the shadows of the older, more seasoned bucks waiting to be claimed.
Trophy Hunts
Our standard trophy hunt spans three and a half days. We primarily hunt from concealed blinds, yet when conditions allow, we also embrace the thrill of rattling, stalking, and still-hunting on foot or from our four-wheel drive hunting vehicles. Every hunt is fully guided, with our experienced guides discerning the maturity of the deer. A mature buck is defined as one that is 6.5 years old or older. In other words, if a 4.5-year-old steps out that is in the class of deer that you are hunting, you may not be allowed to take it. We uphold a one-shot rule: if a deer is wounded, the hunt will then focus solely on the deer that was shot. Rest assured, we will exhaust every effort to locate any wounded deer.
While we cannot guarantee harvest of a trophy animal, we take great pride in our impressive success rate. More importantly, we assure you of an exhilarating hunt and an unforgettable experience.

- Drop tines will be billed at an extra $200 per inch. This fee will only be added to the total length of drop tine points. For instance, if a deer is a 160" class buck with 10" of drop tines, the total cost would be $10,500. This price would cover the $8,500 cost of a 160" buck (see above) and the extra $200 per inch fee assessed over the total 10" of drop tines creating a fee $2,000 and an overall cost of $10,500.
- All hunting packages require a $1,500.00 non-refundable deposit due upon booking. The balance due prior to the start of your hunt. If a conflict should arise and you cannot make your scheduled hunt, we will make every effort to find a replacement hunter for your hunting dates. If you have not had an opportunity to harvest a whitetail buck during your three-and-a-half day hunt we will extend your hunt another one and a half days or apply half of the fee toward a hunt next season.
Guidelines for Deer
- Trophy Bucks are mature deer at least 6.5 years old and scoring above 145 gross B&C. Guides determine age and give the hunter an idea of what the deer will score.
- Management Bucks are 4.5 years and older, with eight to 10 points, scoring between 125-135 B&C.
- Cull Bucks are bucks of any age that are less than 115 B&C, which the guide feels do not fit the ranch’s management program. This is most often either a spike or a very old buck.

DOVE HUNT ITINERARIES
One Night Itinerary:
- Arrive by 2 PM for a delightful one-day afternoon hunt, savor a delicious steak dinner, spend the night in comfort, indulge in a hearty breakfast, and depart thereafter.
Two Night Itinerary:
Day One: Arrive by 2 pm to embark on the afternoon hunt, followed by a delicious dinner that evening.
Day Two: Begin with breakfast, then venture into a morning hunt. Return for a delightful lunch and a refreshing siesta later in the afternoon, leading into another thrilling hunt and dinner thereafter.
Day Three: Enjoy breakfast before your morning hunt, then prepare to depart after the final adventure.
